More Brewing is looking for an experienced cellar person to join our team. This position will be responsible for assisting in day-to-day production and cellar work at the brewery, cleaning & maintenance of brewing facility and all associated equipment, and some related record-keeping. This individual will be working with other members of the team to ensure all beer that leaves the facility is of the highest quality and that the brewery is kept clean, functional, and up to More Brewing's standards at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the cleaning of our packaging lines (6 head Codi canning line & 4 head Fillmore bottling line)
- Assist brewery team in keeping brewing facility clean, functional and safe at all times
- Follow cleaning and maintenance schedules and perform all required duties to the appropriate standard
- Clean and sanitize tanks, brewhouse, kegs (semi-auto washer) and other equipment
- Yeast harvesting and pitching
- Cellar additions to beer: dry-hopping, fruit, etc.
- Filling/emptying barrels
- Assist brewing team with inventory management generally and inventory counts specifically of finished beer, grain, hops, and other raw materials and supplies
- Monitor fermentations and run QC checks
- Transfer beer from fermenters to brite beer tanks
- Maintain all required paperwork and records including but not limited to cellar logs, inventory sheets, packaging records
- Participate in beer tasting/QC panels
- Work with brewery management to keep an improvement log on all issues as they develop
- Report and troubleshoot equipment problems
- Assist in general production operations
- Occasionally load, drive, and unload a company owned vehicle to transfer items between the More brewing locations
- Cross-training in other production roles
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum of 1 year of professional brewery cellar and/or packaging line work experience
- Valid Drivers License
- Formal brewing education, training or certifications in lieu of work experience
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
- Ability to lift 55lbs and move 160lb kegs throughout the course of a workday
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, inventory control and brewery record-keeping
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Mechanically minded with an ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Must be able to work safely and efficiently in a busy work environment
- Good organization and attention to detail in order to maintain QC practices
- Ability to safely handle and work with hazardous chemicals, hot fluids, pressurized vessels and moving machinery
